Sri Lanka stormed into the ICC Cricket World Cup Super Eights after virtually knocking India out of the tournament with an emphatic 69-run win here on Friday.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul collected his sixth one-day International hundred to lead West Indies to a convincing eight-wicket victory (D/L Method) over Ireland in their rain-affected ICC Cricket World Cup Group D match on Friday at Sabina Park.

Sri Lanka ended their first round campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 with a comfortable 69-run win over India. The win means that Sri Lanka progress to the Super 8s with three wins in as many games. As expected, the Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene was overjoyed with his team’s effort.
